Most projects at the Institute are interdisciplinary and involve problems that require strong working knowledge of mathematical and/or statistical modelling tools and the ability to learn quickly from another discipline. As a doctoral or masters’ student, who will be working at the Institute under supervision of one of our professors, you will have to register in the graduate program of one of the following institutions:
- Wilfrid Laurier University
- Guelph-Waterloo Institute of Physics
- University of Toronto (e.g., Mechanical Engineering or Numerical Analysis Group, Computer Science Department)
- University of Waterloo
- University of Guelph
- or another nearby institution, depending on the arrangement of your future supervisor.
The Institute is located on the Waterloo Campus of the Wilfrid Laurier University. Waterloo is a dynamic city in Ontario, 50 minutes west of Toronto, the major business and financial centre in Canada. All three Universities, Wilfrid Laurier University, University of Waterloo, and the University of Guelph are located within very close proximity to each other. They have joint library facilities via the TriUniversity Group of Libraries as well as joint computational facilities via the Sharcnet.
Please browse our key areas and contact one of our members for further details.
We look forward to welcoming you in this vibrant part of Canada.
